RETNAGOWRI RAJANDRAM
Dr. Retnagowri Rajandram is an Associate Professor with Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya and the first academic scientist among surgeons in Malaysia to establish their first cellular and molecular laboratory since 2010. She obtained her BSc (Hon I) and PhD with The University of Queensland Australia by age 25 and still continued active work for her alumni as their Honorary Associate Professor. She is an advocate for cancer research including renal and colorectal cancers in form of publication and awareness campaigns and has achieved several international and national awards from private and public institutions (e.g., 2017 UQ Alumni young distinguished award, the 2018 Malaysian Australian Alumni awards, The UM Excellence Award in 2019 and 2022. Retnagowri was part of the Steering Committee for the National Medical Postgraduate Training the Directors and Trainers for Malaysia between 2020 to 2024. She is also involved in educating Science-based Postgraduates, Malaysian Urologist, Cardiothoracic Surgeons and Oncologist.
