Rosheny Kumaran 13th Asia Pacific Microscopy Congress 2025

Rosheny Kumaran

I am a PhD candidate in structural virology in the Bostina lab at the University of Otago. I study the structural intricacies of icosahedral viruses using Single Particle Analysis Cryogenic Electron Microscopy. My research focuses on the structure of bacteriophages and the structural changes that icosahedral viruses undergo during genome release. I graduated with first-class Honours in Applied Microbiology and Genetics from Monash University in Malaysia. It was during my degree that I developed a fascination with viruses, particularly due to their unique characteristics.
