Yichun Yin

Laura (Yichun) completed her Ph.D. at the School of Chemistry, Monash University in 2018, and began her specialisation in electron microscopy at the Monash Centre for Electron Microscopy (MCEM). She advanced her skills through specialised EM training including in-situ TEM at the Centre of Electron Microscopy, Zhejiang University. During her final year, she worked as a casual Electron Microscopist in MCEM responsible for basic TEM training, and was also the EM Specialist with the ARC Research Hub for Energy-Efficient Separation at Monash. In 2019, Laura joined CSIRO Energy as a CERC Postdoctoral Fellow. Taking on a number of challenging industrial projects, she then moved to CSIRO Mineral Resources and was promoted to Research Scientist in 2021. With extensive experience in both academic and industrial projects, Laura joined the Monash Centre for Electron Microscopy in June 2024 and continues to advance her expertise in electron microscopy, particularly TEM and STEM.
